SECURITY—Ensuring
people’s safety and security is important to Menon, and the company
works on creating products that can detect threats accurately and
effectively.
• Passive Standoff Sensor for
detecting explosives, chemical & biological threats, and Radiation
& Nuclear Materials: MENTOR-400 A
single sensor that can detect CBRNE is needed. Such a sensor
should be accurate in the presence of interferants, sensitive to trace
quantities of threats and cost effective. Currently, there are
many individual laboratory instruments and a few portable field
instruments that specialize in detecting a few specific chemicals or
explosives but do not cover the entire spectrum of threats.
The
Security Division is developing MENTOR-400, a sensor that produces a
signal when it reacts with the threats. The Company is currently
developing this technology. Readout can be stand-off or through
remote monitoring. The Security Division hires chemists,
biochemists, explosives and radiation experts. The team members
collaborate with various organizations and universities to help
research various aspects in the course of development and testing.
