Instability in supply and pricing motivated the Department of Defense to pursue alternative solutions to making jet fuel and biodiesel.   An abundant supply and relatively easy and cheap solution is required to meet the demand.

The Energy Division creates enabling technologies to solve the problem via use of cellulose/hemicellulose/lignin or polysaccharide sugars.  The Company has a unique method to produce TAGS (triacylglycerides) in a cost effective manner.  This team is funded by the US Federal and State Government to implement large scale production systems.
